The playbook
The run starts read-only: the recon probes decide what happens next. The steps that follow are adapted to the distribution and state found — a real machine is rarely clean.
- 01recondistro and version: apt (Debian/Ubuntu) or dnf (RHEL/Fedora/Rocky/Alma)?
- 02reconDocker Engine + compose plugin present and service active? (podman-docker or snap Docker: report it, do not mix)
- 03reconplex already deployed (container, volumes, /opt/plex)? healthy → verify and skip; never overwrite or delete
- 04reconport 32400 (required on the host network) already taken, and by what? empty = free; taken → ask for another port (ask_user)
- 05reconis a firewall (ufw or firewalld) active?
- 06actInstall Docker Engine + Compose (only if missing)verify
- 07actWrite /opt/plex (compose + .env)verify
- 08actMount the media folder (only if a folder is provided)verify
- 09actClaim the server (only if a claim token is provided)verify
- 10actStart the stackverify
- 11actResponds over HTTPverify
- 12actOpen 32400 (only if a firewall is active)verify

What it verifies
Each step ships its own check. The run only moves on when the check passes, so what the recipe reports as done is what is actually on the server.

Guardrails
Non-negotiable instructions the run must respect, whatever it finds on the server.
Plex already running → verify and report, recreate nothing. Media always read-only. The claim token expires in 4 min: without a valid token, the user claims the server through an SSH tunnel to http://127.0.0.1:32400/web. Open only 32400/tcp. Never delete /opt/plex/config.

Variables
What you choose before launching — the recipe fills in the rest.
| Name | Meaning |
|---|---|
| ${claim} | Claim token (plex.tv/claim, valid 4 min) |
| ${tz} | Time zone |
| ${media_path} | Media folder on the host (optional, mounted read-only) |

How a recipe runs in Servor
Servor is zero-knowledge: the platform cannot execute anything on its own. When you launch this recipe, a run reads the reconnaissance, plans the steps and asks for your approval. Each approved command is signed by your browser — with a key the server never sees — then relayed verbatim to the agent, which verifies the signature locally before executing.
search by intent — type “firewall”, get ufw
- 01Read-only reconnaissance before any change
- 02Every command signed by your browser, approved by you
- 03Each step verified before the run moves on, every run kept in the history
